Norwegian Air, British Airways places logo-swap bet ahead of WC quarterfinal

Dhaka: Football fever has
spilled into the aviation industry, with Norwegian Air and British Airways
agreeing to a lighthearted social media wager ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026
quarterfinal between Norway and England.
The exchange began when
Norwegian Air challenged British Airways on Instagram, proposing that the
losing country's airline replace its Instagram profile logo with that of its
rival for one day. British Airways responded with a playful remark, saying,
"Don't make bets you can't win," before later accepting the challenge,
according to Norwegian Air.
The friendly rivalry has
attracted widespread attention online, with football fans and travelers
praising the airlines' humorous marketing ahead of one of the tournament's most
anticipated quarterfinals.
British Airways
represents the United Kingdom's flag carrier, while Norwegian Air is
Scandinavia's second-largest airline. The two national teams are set to meet on
July 12, with the winner advancing to face either Argentina or Switzerland in
the semifinals. On the other side of the bracket, Spain has already secured a
semifinal clash against France after defeating Belgium, while France advanced
by overcoming Morocco.
