DXB expects 225,000 passengers on July 12 as summer rush peaks

Dhaka: Dubai International Airport (DXB) has headed into its summer peak, with around 3 million passengers expected through its terminals in the first half of July, according to Dubai Airports, the owner and operator of the airport.
The surge began on July 2 as residents started heading off for the holidays. The busiest day is expected to be July 12, when daily traveler numbers are projected to exceed 225,000, in a fortnight where traffic regularly tops 200,000.
Transfer traffic is expected to account for around 50% of total passengers, reflecting Dubai's position as one of the world's most connected global hubs.
Dubai Airports, in collaboration with its oneDXB partners, has activated a summer readiness plan to keep journeys smooth, safe, and on time. It advised travelers to arrive no earlier than three hours before departure and use online check-in where available.
Guests flying with Emirates can use the airline's home, city, and self-service check-in options, while families with children over age 12 can use Smart Gates to speed through passport control.
Enhanced support is available for People of Determination, including marked accessibility routes, trained staff for guests wearing the Sunflower Lanyard, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2.
Passengers have also been advised to stay updated on travel regulations for their destinations and carry all necessary documents and to pack spare batteries and power banks in hand luggage only.
Dubai Airports recommended guests use DXB Express Maps, a wayfinding platform that helps navigate the airport via a quick QR code scan and search.
