Holiday Inn Dhaka brings back 'Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0' food festival


Dhaka: Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre is bringing back its popular Bengali-themed food festival, "Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0," following the overwhelming response the inaugural edition received last year.
The property said, through the five-day festival, it aims to recreate the nostalgic simplicity and cultural warmth of rural Bengal by transforming the hotel with a colorful Gram Bangla-inspired theme, featuring traditional food, music, entertainment, and rural culture.
The "Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0" buffet will feature an extensive spread of authentic Bengali dishes prepared with traditional flavors and home-style recipes.
Guests will be welcomed with the hotel's signature Kacha Amer Shorbot, popularly known as Aam Panna. The beverage selection will also include Lassi, Ghol, Beler Shorbot, Lemon Mint, and Tamarind Shorbot.
The main course lineup includes Panta Bhat, Bhuna Khichuri, Mutton Kacchi, Sonali Chicken Polao, Shorshe Ilish, Narikel Chingri, Duck Bhuna, Beef Kala Bhuna, Local Fish Curries, Shutki Preparations, Seasonal Vegetables, and traditional Dal selections.
One of the major highlights of the festival will be fresh Ilish from the Padma River, offering guests a chance to enjoy one of Bengal's most treasured delicacies.
Guests can also explore an extensive Bhorta and Achar station, along with popular street food favorites such as Fuchka, Chotpoti, and Jhalmuri from the live stations.
The dessert section will feature Mishti Doi, Gurer Mishti Doi, Shahi Tukra, Nawabi Shemai, Patishapta, Traditional Pitha, Narikel Naru, Jalebi, Kheer, Assorted Local Sweets, and Malai Tea.
Beyond the buffet, the hotel will bring the spirit of rural Bengal to life through a traditional bioscope, a Gram Bangla-themed photo booth, a fortune-telling corner, face painting, and a live Baul performance with Ektara.
"The response to Banglar Roshona Bilash last year was extremely encouraging, and many of our guests requested us to bring it back," said the hotel's general manager, Dipankar De.
"Through Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0, we are creating a space where families and friends can enjoy authentic Gram Bangla cuisine, experience rural traditions, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh," he added.
"Banglar Roshona Bilash 2.0" will be available from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, from July 8 to 12, at the hotel's Attitude Restaurant.
The buffet is priced at BDT 7,777 net per person, with a special Buy One Get Three (B1G3) offer available on selected bank cards, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
