Saudia Cargo adds four 777-200 freighters

Dhaka: Saudia Cargo, the national air cargo carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced plans to add four Boeing 777-200 freighter aircraft to its fleet, marking an expansion as part of the company's plan to double its dedicated cargo fleet.
The move is also aimed at supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, alongside enhancing the carrier's operational capabilities and expanding its global network.
Saudia Cargo is scheduled to receive its first new Boeing 777-200 Freighter in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the remaining three aircraft to be delivered sequentially throughout 2027. The new jets will support the airline's network across four continents.
Saudia Cargo CEO and Managing Director Eng. Loay Mashabi called the announcement a strategic milestone reflecting a long-term vision to expand the carrier's capabilities and global presence. He described the four new freighters as the first step in this phase.
Mashabi added that the expansion reinforces the value delivered to customers and partners and supports Saudi Arabia's goal of becoming a global logistics hub, calling it the beginning of a new era of growth for the carrier.
Omar Arekat, Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing for the Middle East at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the order reflects the aircraft's performance and versatility. He noted it strengthens Boeing's more than 75-year partnership with Saudia Group.
Saudia Cargo posted a strong operational performance in 2025, carrying more than 570,000 tons of cargo across a network of over 90 destinations. The airline also recorded continuous growth in revenues, national exports, and e-commerce during the year.
The carrier maintained an on-time performance above 90 percent last year, backed by three IATA CEIV certifications and six specialized ISO certifications. It also posted a Net Promoter Score of 57, reflecting growing customer trust.
Saudia Cargo said the achievements provide a solid foundation for its next phase of global growth. The airline aims to strengthen its role in enabling trade and connecting global markets while supporting the Kingdom's broader logistics ambitions.
