  Thai takes delivery of brand new Boeing B777-300ER

Bangkok : Thai Airways International has taken delivery of the first of eight brand new Boeing B777-300ERs being leased from Singapore's BOAC.
The new B777-300ER aircraft, features Thai Airways' new cabin interior design, IFE system and seats. The aircraft is the first in the airline's 2011-2017 corporate plan for aircraft acquisition, and will replace less fuel efficient decommissioned aircraft.
Thai Airways will operate the Boeing B777-300ER daily between Bangkok and Narita, Tokyo; and once the second arrives sometime in October 2012, on the Bangkok-Seoul-Los Angeles and Bangkok-Brussels routes.
The new Thai Airways International Boeing B777-300ER can accommodate up to 348 passengers in a two-class configuration.
In Royal Silk Class, the 42 seats - in a 1-2-1 - layout recline 180 degrees, have an 87-inch pitch and a 20-inch width. The seats are staggered for easy access and comfort. The inflight entertainment system, that offers 100 movies, 150 documentaries, 500 CD albums and 60 games, can be enjoyed on personal 15-inch screens.
Economy Class passengers can enjoy the same IFE system on 10.6-inch screens. The 306 seats in Economy Class have a 32-inch pitch and an 18-inch width.
The aircraft is also fitted with telecommunications equipment for mobile phone use inflight, including incoming calls, outgoing calls, SMS etc.
The airline will receive six direct-order Boeing B777-300ERs_ in addition to the eight mentioned above_ between February 2014 and September 2015.
