  Saudia announces new rules for baggage

Riyadh : Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) has announced a new baggage allowance policy on its international routes effective September 1, Arab News has reported.
The new scheme, which is based on the 'piece concept' instead of the existing 'weight concept,' has been loaded in all Group Decision Support Systems (GDSs) and it will be automatically reflected on tickets of the passengers, the airline said.
According to a memorandum sent to all travel agents in the Kingdom, Saudia has specified that each Eco-nomy Class passenger will be allowed to carry only one piece of 32kg or less. For the First and Business Class, the airline will allow two pieces of 32kg each.
