  Thai Food Festival at Radisson Water Garden Dhaka

Dhaka : Thai Food and Cultural Festival began at the Water Garden Brasserie of Radisson Water Garden Hotel Dhaka on July 12. The festival will conclude on July 18.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Faruk Khan, Commerce Minister, will inaugurate a three-day "Tas-te of Thailand in Bangladesh" fair at the Royal Thai Embassy premises on July 16. Visitors will be able to enjoy Thai cuisine, Thai fruits, Thai food products at the fair.

Tasanawadee Miancharoen, Ambassador of Royal Thai Embassy in Bangladesh informed this at a press briefing at the hotel on July 11. Andre A. Gomez, General Manager, Radisson Water Garden Hotel Dhaka, Kitipong Maniyakul, General Manager-Bangladesh, Thai Airways, Saeed Ahmed, EAM and Director of Sales and Marketing and Alexander Mack, Chief Chef of Radisson Hotel also addressed the press briefing.

Ambassador Tasanawadee Miancharoen said the two events were arranged to mark the 50th Anniversary of Thai Airways operation in Bangladesh.

She explained about the elements to expect in the fair - like traditional Thai dances and cultural shows, handicrafts and fresh fruits and spices and ingredients to prepare Thai food and handicrafts from Thailand. There will also be stalls of restaurants who have been selling Thai food in Dhaka for a long time like Thai Chi and Royal Thai.

Andre A. Gomez said the hotel is offering different food festivals all year long but this time they are putting extraordinary efforts to make success of the event. Flying in two culinary expert_ Master Chefs Boon Raem Kam-choy and Vic-han Pachar-pungrot_ and a group of cultural artistes direct from Thailand, brin-ging down fresh fruits under special arrangement show how serious they are about the festival.

He said Thai food is not unfamiliar in Bangladesh. In almost every corner Thai food is available but the Festival is a complete showcase of Thailand in terms of traditional food and cultural authenticity.

Famous Thai dishes such as Yum Talay, Nam Prik Goong Siab, Tom Kha Gai, Pla Nueng Manao and several other mouth watering food items are being presented at the Festival for diners to satisfy their taste buds.
